Project work
The project work is one of the supplementary modules in the Master program and a total of two project works must be completed. In principle, this is an internship about which a written report must be prepared afterwards. The internship must be completed in a neuroscientific institution and cover a period of 6 weeks.
More information can be found in the module description.
Registration of the project work
- Download the form "Registration for project modules (M.Sc.)", which you can find on the website of the study program under "Downloads".
- Complete the form and sign it. Your supervisor also needs to sign the form. (Note that only habilitated persons are allowed to supervise the project work)
- Send the form to the M.Sc. Examination Board to approve the project work. Therefore, it is sufficient to write an e-mail to the Examination Board (PA-MSc-NW(at)uni-koeln.de). It is recommended to put both the chairperson and the vice-chairperson in the CC of the mail in order not to run the risk of the mail being overlooked. In case of approval, the person of the examination board also signs the form.
- Send the completely filled out and triple signed (by you, your supervisor, and the examination board) form to the examination office.
Please note that you must submit the form to the examination board at least 4 weeks before the start of your project work, as the approval takes a certain amount of time.
Submission of the project work
For the recognition of a project work you must have the project report evaluated by the examination board (as "passed" or "failed"). Here, too, it is sufficient to write an e-mail with the report (PA-MSc-NWuni-koeln.de) and to put the chairman or vice-chairman in the CC. If you receive a message from the examination board that the report has been evaluated as "passed", you must forward this confirmation to the examination office. In addition to the evaluation of the project report, you must also submit an internship certificate to the Examination Office. This is a short letter from your supervisor confirming that you have completed the internship within the specified period. This must be signed by your supervisor and have a stamp from the institution.
