Online-Drive

The Student Council operates its own online-drive through the university (a so-called "SOFS-drive"). Here we collect helpful learning materials such as e-books, scripts, handouts or study notes from students. You can use these materials to prepare yourself for exams etc.

Most of the materials on the drive come from students of higher semesters who have made them available for subsequent students. If you have helpful or up-to-date learning materials that might be of interest to others, please send them to us by e-mail so that we can share them with everyone on the drive.

How can I access the drive?

To access the online drive, we first have to activate your student account. Usually we activate your account directly when you give us your email address for the mailing list of the student council. This means the other way round: If you are registered in our mailing list with your smail address (i.e. if you receive mails from the student council to your smail address), you should already have access to the drive.

Depending on your operating system (Windows or MacOS) there are different ways to access the online drive. The different possibilities are described on the RRZK website and linked below.

The online drive is a project drive for institutions. The exact name is "Neuroscience". In the instructions linked below, this name for our drive must be inserted or replaced with the example given. In most cases this will result in the following extension: ...uni-koeln.de/Neuroscience

Access via Windows

  • Via CIFS/SMB: This access is only possible in the university network (UKLAN). If you are not on site at the university, you have to set up a VPN connection to the UKLAN.
  • Via WebDAV: This access path is possible from any network, i.e. you do not need a mandatory connection to the UKLAN

Access via MacOS

  • Via CIFS/SMB: This access is only possible in the university network (UKLAN). If you are not on site at the university, you have to set up a VPN connection to the UKLAN.
  • Via WebDAV: This access path is possible from any network, i.e. you do not need a mandatory connection to the UKLAN

Operating system independent access

  • Webbrowser: The online drive can also be accessed with any webbrowser (e.g.: Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Opera). Thus, access is independent of the operating system. However, only read access is possible, i.e. no new folders can be created or files uploaded in this way.
